Access/On Multimedia was formed in 1994 to provide advanced communication services to the smaller cities and towns of central North
Carolina. Originally, thirteen local exchange carriers joined forces to build
a 1200 mile fiber network. Today, through consolidation,
Access/On is owned by 11 local exchange carriers.
In 2000 Access/On joined with ValleyNet, PalmettoNet and US Carrier Telecom to form DDR Broadband Networks, giving Access/On customers access to a large network delivering advanced communications services throughout the southeast US. Please visit the DDR website for more information about DDR.
